DUFFA Runners
Playing Ultimate Frisbee Twice a Week Just Isn't Enough!
As well as our twice-weekly frisbee sessions, we're quite active folk at DUFFA, we have a group of members that are regular runners at weekly Saturday Parkruns.
Parkrun is a free 5km run held in parks all over the world and, like DUFFA, it's open and welcoming to all abilities and fitness levels, from athletes to social joggers!
As many of us live in the Didsbury, Withington, Chorlton areas of Manchester we tend to meet up at 9am in Platt Fields for the South Manchester Parkrun. The course is 5km long around the beautiful park, it's free to join in and if you register online with http://www.parkrun.org.uk and print off a barcode they will record your times so you can track your progress over the weeks. You don't need anything special - just trainers and a bottle of water!
At the South Manchester Parkrun there are usually 150+ people of all levels of fitness, so even if you're not a regular runner it's a great social way to improve your fitness. And of course being DUFFA after the exercise we meet up for a social breakfast in Fallowfield. It's a great way to start the weekend. To get involved with the DUFFA Runners please email info@duffa.org
As well as running our members regularly arrange other activities such as cycling, walking, and climbing. If you're interested in joining us for any of these activities please post on our Facebook group for more details!
